Kimon Journal 2: Mysteries after puzzles

As we run after Thorin, we tried every efforts to attract his attention and stop him. Vehl used his phantom hand to trip him and Chloe's yelling but failed in trying. As Thorin run toward the town, Chloe shouted to request the Guard to stop Thorin. Thorin made a quite turn when the guard attempted to stop him. They caught up to him but no guard were able to recognize Thorin. He wake, he rushed at me and started to yell, asking about his children.
 His face started to shrunk and rot as i look into his face when he is yelling, he fainted later. I requested Chloe to heal him but somehow her magic does not work on him. I wondered what could have stop the healing, we brought Thorin to the temple. There we started to argue again whether should we do it physically which is me grab out some magic source in him or magically by Vehl. Then step in the white guy and another tiefling. We decided to let Vehl and the tiefling to do the surgery magically as to severe the magic that sucking Thorin's soul.
Suddenly their eye shine in purple light, I feared they might be possessed. I called out to make sure Vehl is still Vehl, he answered and tell us the vision he sees. The when everything is done, we investigate Thorin further but he could not give more information as he looked like he is tranquilized. Then another argument arise as the tiefling tried to lied about his identity when we asked him and also his mission.
Couldnt care more bout it, i walk to the mayor place to claim my pay. Mayor was not there as I walk in and soon we thought there could be any hidden entrance. By putting a sword into the wall with A sword and an empty slot. A door opened, there sat a shadow of a person tied down. We uncover the cloth and found Mayor under it. After some investigation, the mayor was kidnapped by an imposter that hired us to clear of the threat. 
A Golden dagger was stolen while there left a coin. As mayor gave us the money, Vehl make it disappear as i going to grab it. There he said we should not take the money but he went asking if the mayor could give him any magical item. Vehl just being Vehl. We agree later on with the tiefling, Mirari to aid him for his problem in the MoonSky city as we are going to investigate further of the marked coin that left behind by the Imposter.

What could be his intention? Could it be he want to lure us away from city and have us killed so that they can continue their plan? Or just they have succeeded to execute their plan but failed to kill us.
